Ο Yitzhak Rabin υπήρξε ένας θρυλικός Ισραηλινός στρατιωτικός ηγέτης, διοικώντας μια μονάδα στην προ-κρατική πολεμική δύναμη Palmach και στη συνέχεια ανέβηκε την στρατιωτική ιεραρχία για να γίνει αρχηγός του επιτελείου Άμυνας του Ισραήλ την εποχή της νίκης του Ισραήλ στον Πόλεμο των Έξι Ημερών.
Στη συνέχεια ξεκίνησε μια πολιτική καριέρα που τον είδε να υπηρετεί δύο θητείες ως πρωθυπουργός.
Αφού εξελέγη πρωθυπουργός για δεύτερη φορά το 1992, προσπάθησε να κάνει ειρήνη με τους Παλαιστίνιους, προσπαθώντας μάταια να σφυρηλατήσει μια μόνιμη συμφωνία με τον ηγέτη της PLO Yasser Arafat.
Το 1994, του απονεμήθηκε το Nobel Peace Prize μαζί με τον τότε υπουργό Εξωτερικών Shimon Peres και τον Arafat για τη συμμετοχή του στην υπογραφή των ειρηνευτικών συμφωνιών του Oslo.
Ο Dr. Klausne αποφοίτησε από την Tel-Aviv University medical school. Ολοκλήρωσε την ειδικότητά του στη γενική χειρουργική στο νοσοκομείο Ichilov. Έκανε την υποτροφία του στο Brigham & Women hospital, Boston, USA και συνέχισε τις σπουδές του στο Harvard University. Είναι Chairman of Surgery στο Tel Aviv Medical Center since 1996. Κατέχει επίσης αξιόλογους ακαδημαϊκούς τίτλους. Είναι επικεφαλής του τμήματος πειραματικής χειρουργικής στην Tel-Aviv University’s Sackler Faculty of Medicine, όπου ήταν καθηγητής στο παρελθόν.
