Ο Steven Klein τώρα, εισήλθε στον κόσμο της φωτογραφίας, ενώ ήταν ήδη εκπαιδευμένος στην τέχνη, με συγκέντρωση στη ζωγραφική. Ξεκίνησε τη φωτογραφική του καριέρα στις αρχές της δεκαετίας του 1990 στο Παρίσι, πριν μετακομίσει στη Νέα Υόρκη, όπου ζει και εργάζεται σήμερα.
Οι δουλειές του εμφανίζονται σε περιοδικά όπως W, American, Italian και French Vogue. Η καινοτόμος και δημιουργική του προσέγγιση στην τέχνη έχει ξεπεράσει τον κόσμο της μόδας και του επέτρεψε να δημοσιεύσει βιβλία, να δημιουργήσει video εγκαταστάσεις για συναυλίες και να κατευθύνει εμπορικά κομμάτια, ενώ συνεχίζει να παραμένει στην πρώτη γραμμή της παραγωγής εικόνων. Ο Steven είχε ατομικές εκθέσεις στις Deitch Gallery and Gagosian Gallery.
